About

Jessica Freiman is a USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medalist located in Dover, NH.  She worked her way up the levels cleaning stalls and riding anything she could get her hands on.  She was a working student for Mary Howard for many years at Five Stars Farm where she earned her bronze and silver medals.  In her post working student years she has been riding and training on her own as well as working for sporthorse vet clinics as an equine tech.  In 2017 Jessica decided to focus solely on her riding career and debuted her horse at Grand Prix, where he has scored up to 68%.  Jessica follows a classical apporach to dressage and believes that the overall physical and mental well being of the horse is of the utmost importance.  She prides herself on producing rideable happy horses.

Jessica has experience with young horses and with teaching many different breeds dressage, including all breeds of Warmbloods, OTTB’s, Quarter Horses, Friesians, and Draft crosses.  She believes in a strong base of ground work for all horses, whether they are babies just learning to be handled or horses already out competing, and in taking the time to develop the horses slowly and correctly.  She is constantly trying to expand her knowledge base with taking lessons and attending clinics.  In the past she has cliniced with Linda Zang, Christoph Hess, Mikala Munter, Tanya Rennie, Jeremy Steinberg, Jennifer Wilson-Horr, Rob Waine, Ben Franklin and Conrad Schumacher.

Jessica’s students have done well in USDF Region 8 and nationally, and she is proud of all of the accomplishments her non-showing students have made as well.  In 2015 she had a student qualify for nationals at first and training level and went and coached them to 8th and 5th places, respectively.  In 2016 another student was 1st place Jr/Yr for the NEDA Year End Awards and 1st place NHDEA 1st Level Jr/YR.  In 2017 the same student was Regional Champion at First Level and 4th Place Second Level Jr/Yr.  Jess is available for coaching at most dressage shows in the area.

Jessica loves to compete and in 2017 showed her 2006 Westphalian gelding Zenzero and the Westphalian mare Phanciana.  Zenzero made his debut at Grand Prix and Phanciana made her debut at Second Level, where she was 6th place in a large Regional Championships class and received a wildcard invitation to the USDF Finals.  Phanciana had mulitple scores in the 70s this year, including a 73% at NEDA Fall.  Jessica owned Zenzero since 2013, and they have competed succesfully at 3rd, 4th Level, PSG, I1 and Grand Prix.  In 2015 Zenzero was 6th place in the NEDA year end awards.  In 2016 they won both the PSG classes at UNH and were consistently in the top 3 placings for most of the season.  Jessica Freiman has had her USDF Bronze medal since 2009 and her Silver medal since 2010.  In 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2015 she also introduced a variety of young horses to the show ring to the first time.  In 2019 Zen continued to show GP, while Phanci moved up to 3rd level.  Showing plans were interrupted with the pandemic, but in 2021 Phanciana made her PSG debut and was the All Breeds 10th place Westphalian at PSG.  Jessica also showed Arizona Pie owned by Amy Wolfe at 2nd level to scores in the upper 60’s, Kander King’s horse Dance Til Dawn at 4th level with a 3rd place result, and her horse Dear Friend to his PSG debut which he won.  She also coached students throughout New England and student Erina White to a fifth place finish at the I-1 Freestyle at the USDF Finals.  Jessica is looking forward to a busy show season in 2022.
